I went onto the forum, I got the privoxy thing working, but it's not very stable on this ISP. IT keeps disconnecting, anyway I managed to stay linked up long enough to read that your names are definitely there as having logged into the forum yesterday. So there's no mistake.

I didn't read anything, not that interested anymore. LOL
But I posted like you asked me to. This is what I put:

You said you've no idea what they did while they were logged in, but do you have any idea what on earth they would want to steal your identity for?
How on earth could anyone do that, I mean they'd have to be pretty good at hacking wouldn't they? Or are your passwords really obvious or weak or something? They say they can hack them if they're not really complicated or if they're really obvious like God or Darth Vader.

I haven't a clue who could do this or why, but I really hope you get to the bottom of this. It's awful to think about how unsafe some forums are.

Any idea as to likely culprits or should I make an educated guess?

Whoever it is you need to put a stop to this now. Contact your ISP as soon as you can and see what they advise. Illegal activity like this needs to be stopped quickly.
People need to believe that their private information is going to remain just that. If you can't trust the Admins to keep you safe who can you trust?

I thought I had better let you all know I have been banned from the vampyres.co.uk forum.
I questioned the actions of the Admins when they logged into my account without prior permission. I said that if they felt that this was an acceptable thing to do I was unable to trust the integrity of the site anymore.
As I was unable to access the site anyway and all the information on the site is his to do with as he pleases Dracula banned me.
I had always thought that personal messages were just that unless a member is accused of something where Police action is needed so If anyone sent pms that could have been read by the admin there I am very sorry I have had no way of accessing or deleting them.

Happily as the account no longer exists that is not an issue now.
If anyone needs any help at all please do not hesitate to PM me here
or email me through the castle mail system.

The Admin didn't like that I complained about having my account accessed, and wouldn't back down, and so for being disruptive and confrontational, (apparently she'd accessed several other peoples accounts too and I was the only one who had over-reacted in this way,) I am banned too.

Pats seat.....we may be needing a bigger boat.

Just to say i'm absolutly gutted you have been banned.

this is what is posted on the boards in regards to looking into people accounts, before it happened.

"To get back on topic, I have received a couple of emails of people who say they are having difficulty accessing their accounts. I have emailed Drac who has been in to have a look and will be getting back to me shortly. I have also found out that as Admin I can get into people's accounts.... so be very careful about what you say about me in private from now on....and that means you too HM. So I have logged in as some of the ones who are having problems, changed a few of the settings and hopefully sorted the problems.

Were you contacted at all before yours accounts were accessed?
As it does clearly say "I have logged" Past tense me thinks...

the short answer to that GD is no not at all. I have had emails from Drac but he has blocked my only other way of contacting him through facebook.
so I am left now scrabbling about trying to get any kind of answer out of him through the solent IT website.
Apparently that is not going too well either.
Just so you know accessing an account like that is deemed an invasion of privacy under the data protection act. So if it happens to any one the law is actually on your side.

Thats with or without permission ..password protected information is only accessed while using a court order. It's not in an admins rights to be able to touch it.

I got the impression that emails were going to be sent before anything else happened (like looking into your accounts) and once there was a reply she would go in.

I can't believe that you have both been banned. You were both respected, knowledgable, friendly and welcoming members of the site. I'm going to miss you there :(

i have to be honest when i first read chakiras i thought it was all legit until i found out that she had done it secretly and had not (as she stated) contacted any of you. this i find is a considerable breach in trust and privacy.

Oddly enough I said something very similar to Drac when he told me what they had done. It was one of the things that appears to have really annoyed him.

I am going to try to become active again on Vampyres because Chakira will be the only one who knows my feelings towards her.

That way, I can hopefully still try to help people who need it.

Even if I only help a few, I have the chance to try making a large difference on those few if I can lead them to this site.

Thats why i'm still there pretty much.
Trying to help new members when they need it and give them other option if they need.

Besides there has to be one realitively sane member on the staff team there keeping an eye out for the forum members.

Terri has decided to take time out from vamps now for a while, after making her feelings very clear to the admins. Good girl :)
