What do The Shadows look like?

In the very beginning at the time when choices were being made some Shadow chose to arrange their energy in the frequencies of Vampire, Were, Etc, and some chose to remain more fluid in their vibration. Neither one is more correct than the other, and neither is more Shadow than the other.
At that time the choices were made that would mould us for eternity, there is no going back.
I am not Shadow-Vampire or Shadow-Were, I am just Shadow, and just Shadow I shall remain.

My essence is quite fluid in it's make up so fits reasonably well into some lifeforms. For me those are the largest birds, the wolf and human. So given the similarities between Shadow, Phoenix and Wraith essences I was wondering.

Do you know if you have been resident in forms other than human?

By this I do not mean that you have actually been one of them, but have occupied that body type for a lifetime

I have tried a couple of animal lives, more as an experiment than anything else, but they are not for me. I prefer to have a need to use more of my talents and brains than animals do.
Unlike many Shadow Kindred beings I have no urge to visit the wild side. As such my essence doesn't have that kind of wild side, so there is no call to let the beast free to live in the woods and eat dirt!
I was a totally unsuccessful wild creature, and was really happy to come to the end of those particular life paths.
I don't intend to do it again in a hurry.

I have never lived as a Wild creature. Like you Shade I have no call of the wild in my essence, and so have felt no need to even experiment with such a lifestyle.
I have been told that I should experience it, even if it is only on one occassion, but so far have successfully resisted all the attempts made to persuade me.
I have instinctively always believed that such a life is not for me. My instincts have never let me down, and until they do I will continue to follow their excellent council.

How can you tell if you have Shadow in your essence?
Even if it felt different how could you know, if you are new to all this you wouldn't be able to tell if you had it or not would you?

I don't know but I'd think there would be some way to tell.
I am still confused by how things work.
Because I'm not totally stupid I get that The Shadow were the first Kin, formed from the light and dark, and I understand that just like the shadows we get in the human world there were a lot of different shades of Shadow that split and made the different kinds of Kin.
I understand that some remained Shadow and some took the forms of the other Kin types, but I don't understand why they would do that if they didn't need to?
Any answers anyone?

Perhaps they desired change. Some wanted something more stable than the form of a shadow and so transformed into something else.

((shoot, I need to be careful. All the most random stuff is bringing back memories of the before-life and the after-life as well as many lives. It's unnerving.))

best thing to do with the memories for now Daniel is roll with it.
Let them run their course and try to remember that no matter how real they are and how "in them" you are they are just memories and have been and gone long ago.
Once you can accept them completely they will stop being unnerving or uncomfortable and you should be able to start sifting through them to find the useful bits.
No matter how far "in the past" they are, many of them really are relevant to the person you are now, in some way.
It's just not always obvious ;)

I think there is a very good chance that that is one reason they did it.
Perhaps they also did it to give us the chance to be more aswell.
In my belief system The Shadow were the first Kin, we all formed from them. Without them we could all still be shapeless energy matter free floating in space. Perhaps they wanted to give us the chance to experience shape and form, as a different kind of freedom.


The problem with transmigration is that it is too easy to forget that the person you were, is the person you are, and the person you always will be, only the circumstances change.
Many of us recall some truly hideous memories from past lives. Memories of being killed, and for some of us memories of killing, and we say, "that cannot have been me, I would never have done those things. I would never have killed that person, or said those mean things, I'm not like that". What you have to remember is that you might not be like that now, because the circumstances you are living in give you the luxiry to not be like that, but in different circumstances, ones where you don't have the comfort and luxury you have now, the freedom and the peace, (at least for most of us there is freedom and peace), you might be just like that.
We do not know what we are capable of in oder to ensure our survival. If our backs are against the wall we might well be capable of absolutely anything. To protect ourselves and our loved ones, we might fight, die, and yes even kill, if we felt we had no choice. I know I have.
The memories you have been getting will become more a part of you over time, and it might be easier if you can remember the circumstances in which they were experienced, and try and think of how you would act now if you were in the same position again. That way you form a connection to all the lives you have ever had, all the creatures you have ever been, and the essence that always dwells inside whatever the outside might look like.

Your creators are the light and the dark, and they mixed pretty much as they do on the physical plane, and from this they made the Shadow in different shades, and these different shades made the different kinds or types of what you all call Kin?
Who decided what shade would make what Kin?

Not everyone here believes that.
There are lots who do, but not everyone. :)

I think it was the vibration of the shadow that decided the Kin it would make, a bit like the vibration of a shade decides what colour that shade will be, and how dark or light it is.
I think that one of the vibrations stayed shadow, and the rest would be the first of the different Kin types, and create the others.
