Serenity- 10-22-2008
If any of you guys have seen my post recently well youll know that Demetry is a bit under the weather, but its way worse than that. If anyone remembers him complaining about the marks on his back, theyve gotten way more serious and now theyre bleeding. He wont go to the doctor no matter how much I beg and he cant tell his parents because he cant explain where the wounds came from and this morning when i went to see him his sheets were soaked in blood. I had to take the day off to stay with him.

And the "macho" man is convinced that he is being punished for something he did or caused! I just dont know what to do anymore.

zygopterix- 10-22-2008
It really sdoesnt matter that he can't explain them Serenity.
Get him to a Doctor and have them look at the wounds.
There are allsorts of really quite nasty things floating about that have a normal explanation, viruses, super bugs, allergic reactions, various diseases, and even some parasites can cause some pretty catastophic and convincing looking wounds to appear seemingly out of thin air.

entities that can cause physical wounding are extremely rare and I doubt demetry has done enough to rag one off like this.
Please get him to the Docs first thing then we can go from there.
DEMETRY DO AS YOU'RE TOLD DUDE.

i agree, it seems a horrible ordeal to go through but there is no point in being proud when your health is at stake.

it is most likely to be something medical, you would also be surprised what stress can cause these days too.
get him to a doctor even if you have to drag him by his ears.

good luck and please keep us informed

You could always wait until he has been wounded in such a manner, and call nine-one-one. They should rush him to the hospital quick enough.

The upside to that is they can sedate him if he struggles.

I dont know you very well and I hope you don't mind my replying to this post.
I agree with all the others who have left replies, a doctor is an absolute must. This sounds like you are in a very difficult position. Caring enough to worry this much, but feeling unable to make him see someone, but he simply cannot be allowed to resist getting the help he obviously needs.
It could be dangerous for him, because the medical causes of such things can be quite nasty, and also because the infections that are happy to take advantage of open wounds and bleeding scars, cuts and gashes can be horrific.
He may be a re-incarnating essence, but even believing that I am sure he is not ready to give up this existence just yet.
Explain to him very patiently that he needs to get to a GP with these immediately. If he is still resistant, and you are very worried about him, you could very sweetly inform him that if he doesn't co-operate you will call a paramedic ambulance and he may very well end up in the local casualty department having his wounds examined. Even if he objects to them and they don't take him into hospital, the paramedics will be able to take a look at the wounds and give you a professional opinion of how best to help him.
I think it may be time for some harsh truths and some forceful friendship. Cruel to be kind is a very old phrase, but it is familiar to many people because it has an element of common sense that is undeniable.
He has to have a professional look at this. Whether he believes he deserves this, or he is scared, nervous, or simply too 'macho' to ask for help, he needs it, and if he will not go voluntarily then as his friend, unfortunately it is up to you to get it for him.

Once he is well enough he can worry about how he can make recompense for any wrong doing that may have been the cause. First though he has to get better, if he doesn't get better how will he ever make it right?

Farshief- 10-22-2008
Well, as much as I agree that in this situation, that may be the only option open to you. I would not generally be going around with such an attitude.

Unless it is an emergency such as thus. If someone doesn't want to be helped, that is their own choice. Even if it is not the best one.

WhisperInTheDark- 10-22-2008
Of course you are absolutely right Farshief.
My advice was given for the specific situation under discussion only.
I only speak about specifics. I never give general guidance as there are too many variables to calculate in such theorizing. Something is certain to go wrong, and often in such situations people get damaged in some way.

If others choose to take my advice and use it out of the specific context in which it was given, then that is their choice and completely out of my control. However I wish they wouldn't do that.

Serenity- 10-23-2008
Thanks for the advice guys, it seems we were all thinking along the same lines because I did actually call the ambulance last night. I told them a little white lie otherkin/cool-smiley-006.gif I said that we had been out to a farm in staffordshire and that he had slipped down a ravine unto some wires which he had to go along with because I told him that if he didnt I was going to castrate him otherkin/145.gif I know it sounds cruel but I had no other choice!
Anyway he had to get stitches and theyre keeping him overnight for observation, but at least hes had someone look at them now.
he still claims that Im overdramatic because he would have been just fine, just goes to show even when theyre kin men still have extremely little common sense when it comes to their health otherkin/angel_sm017.gif no offense guys!

Demetry- 10-23-2008
I wrote another apology but in case you dont read that one Im sorry for everything

ComeToMe- 10-23-2008
At least he got help, Serenity. That was a pretty outstanding thing you did. You should be very proud of yourself.
Having read his apology in the other section he sounds sincere to me. It might be that he really does appreciate how lucky he is to have a friend like you.
Demetry, I think listening to worried friends is an excellent idea. Sometimes even when we think we have it under control, we really don't. There are quite a few people here who care for Serenity a lot, and of course we care about you, because you are a friend of hers and because having joined our family, you are now a worry for all of us. That's how it works here, when it's allowed to.
I am glad you seem to be feeling better, I hope you recover quickly and that you manage to get this sorted out. The good thing about doing it their way is that the cuts are dealt with, and the reasons for them are investigated, and if there is no medical reason for them to suddenly be appearing, then we can start to think about the best way to protect you our way.

I take offence to that, I have plenty of common sence tongue.gif

Farshief- 10-28-2008
That would probably be why she said no offense tongue.gif

Serenity- 10-31-2008

zygopterix- 10-31-2008
ooh hey thats a libelous slur..... I do not use my common sense at all unless I can really help it. otherkin/687.gif

InDarknessBeWere- 10-31-2008
