I just wondered if everyone here thought that all creatures who claim to be Shadow are Vampires or 'Fallen'?
Often I have found in the forums I read that most of the people who claim to be or have been 'Shadow' are also people who claim to be either a Fallen Angel or a Vampire, and that gives the impression that only Vampires or Fallen Angels CAN be 'Shadow', and that is just not so.
I am Shadow, not descended, just simply Shadow, and I am an Elf.

Shadow comes in many shades and many variations. For each kin there is a 'Shadow', an ancestor or descendant.

We are everywhere, but not all of us are quite so vocal or so desperate to prove we exist.

I know you already know this Elvin and I have said as much elsewhere but my direct parents are Shadow, My father shows himself to me as an Eagle and my mother as a Black Eagle but they are both Phoenix.
My perception of them is that they are Eagles because that way as a child I knew what they were.

I do have a Wolf parent who was physically my Father at some point but I do not know very much about him, other than that he is one of twins and has a wicked sense of mischief and humour.

Well I don't know my kin parents and have no relation to the Shadows at all that I am aware of.
I'd never even heard of them until I came here and read the things about them on the forum.

But I think it is better to have it explained that there are Shadow 'every-kin', than to have people believe that the Shadows are some exclusive club that only Vampires and the Fallen have the right stuff to be members of.

Shadow is the source of all Kin not just Vampires and Fallen.

When you say 'claim to be', do you mean that you don't think they are telling the truth?

Personally I get the impression that some who call themselves Kin are not being truthful. I think they have found something which looks cool to latch onto and are just along for the ride.

I dont think they are all not Kin but I am certain some are mistaken about what they are.

Hmmm that's a good point Zygo.

I have heard a few people who have said they started out thinking they were one thing before realising later that they were something else.

Phoenix are around 25 ft tall with a 35ft wingspan give or take and to be honest I don't properly fit in this rather large body of mine, I am 6ft5 1/2 now and still growing (at 37) but I appear sometimes to be almost pushing my joints apart.
I often need to stretch and again feel like my arms legs and back are far too small for my insides.

Incidentally I started out thinking I was draconic but soon changed my mind when I realised it really didn't fit or make sense for me.
Most of the dragons are positively hugemungous compared to me plus allowing the kind of energy they have access to into a human body would be a bit like plugging it into a nuclear power station and expecting to have something left at the end of the show.

By any chance do you have problems with your joints? Or are you double jointed?

I have a friend on another forum who believes himself to be a Griffin/Gryphon (sp?) and he has always had trouble fitting such a large shape into such a small body. He is able to dislocate almost all of his joints, and it's not always his idea!!!
I wondered if (you being such a large creature also) you might have, even partially, the same kind of problem.

I personally spell it Griffin, Gryphon is a new internet driven spelling for them and not one I like very much.
I do have very similar joint problems to your Griffin yes ...Try the word subluxate (sounds quite nice doesn't it but it's a partial joint dislocation) on him...he will understand that one if he has hypermobility problems.

May I ask who he is and where he posts (pm if you like but please don't feel obligated to tell me) . I would be interested to read more about him.
I had quite a lot to do with the griffins when I was a child.
