First let me say I only say Vampire/Werewolf movie because these are the ones that are most often made. It is not my intention to insult any other kinds of Kin.

So with that out of the way:
What in your opinion makes a Vampire/Werewolf movie good or bad?
Is it the story/plot?
The actors?
Blood and gore?
Sexy/attractive/compelling characters?
A fast pace with plenty of action?
For me a good one has to have good acting and well thought out sets and with props that look real and like they belong.
Characters I care about, (not the humans though obviously! lol).
I like intruiging characters that I don't know everything about in the first five minutes, male or female, sexy, attractive, with brooding eyes and an air of mystery that makes me WANT to get to know more about them.
I want to want to BE in the movie. I want to want things like that to happen to me. I want to be able to see myself as one of the characters, (not necessarily a main character either.)
I like romance and passion, but NOT sex, that clouds the story and adds unnecessary complications to the whole thing.
A bad movie will have the wrong kind of pace. One that is too fast will lose me and one that is too slow will bore me. I am quite picky and it has to be just right.
Sex when it isn't needed is also a big no-no.
Blood is ok in context, but too much is bad and gore is definitely out of the question.
I have often wanted to know a character inside and out, but that does not mean that I want to SEE their insides!!!
Lastly I should NEVER want the movie to end.
That's a good movie for me.

Bad acting means I turn over straight away, as does a movie that tries to treat the subject with comedy traits. Slapstick has no place in Vampire/Werewolf movies.
Gore and brains all over the place and off it goes.
A silly story line also has me reaching for the off button.
If I don't care what happens that would make me look for something else to watch aswell, I mean why would I watch something if I don't care what happens to any of the characters? They ought to make more effort!
Also musicals, I mean 'Dracula the musical' whose truly terrible idea was that????
Am I on my own with any of these? Are your likes and dislikes similar or totally different?
