I was wondering if anyone has a favourite animal.
And if you do is it the type of animal you are or is it a different one...maybe you even have more than one favourite or no favourite at all and like them all.
Perhaps you don't like any animals at all.

I like all sorts of animals. But my favorites are, eh heh, cats and wolves. so yeah, i like myself i guess.... but i also like eagles and snakes and mice and horses and (getting 'mythical') centaurs and pegasus' and sphinx' and yeah.... lots and lots and lots.

basically i like animals.

except for squirrels. evil .

I suppose every Were would say their Were-animal is their favourite as it is only natural, and of course I would say the same.

After that I would have to choose foxes. I absolutely love them.
I like lots of aimals, but the only love of my life after my Cougar is the fox.

I LOVE Bats. Do you think they count as my were-animal Darkness?

I don't really have another 'favourite' animal, at least not one that I could pick ahead of and above the rest.

No, it's really just and only Bats.

Do they have to be a recognised 'real' animal?
Because if they do I love dogs, but if they don't, then my alltime favourite creature is the gargoyle. I do feel their lack of good looks has given them a bad name that they really do not deserve.
I am convinced they have an inner personal charm that should be seen and recognised by more people.
Come on......You've got to admit some of them are cute, right?
I mean it's not just me....Right???

I have a soft spot for anything with wings, and I'm happy to include most Gargoyles in that. I do however dislike most humans habit of portraying the things they do not understand and so fear, as hugely fat and ugly. Gargolyes are not always as the human sculpters depict them.

I think that all creatures have the potential for inner beauty and charm, but not all live up to that potential. For each one that does there are hundreds who cannot, or even worse, do not wish to. Unfortunately there is a large group of humans that fit that desciption, and that makes life way too hard, for most of them and a lot of us.

Gargoyles get a massive friendly thumbs-up from me too Moon, and I'd like to say, it is nice to meet someone who will cheer for the 'not perfect looking' underdog.

Hmmmmm...........spiders,especially tarantulas, bats i LOVE bats , i am currently reading a book about a bat called shade.
anyway i love any animals like that, dark, creepy and gothic.like wolves , owls and ferrets aswell. they're not exactly gothic but I like them.

Snakes.
Particularly Corn snakes or Pythons, but any snakes will do.
They're smooth and cool to the touch, not slimy like most people think and they are smart, clean, friendly, interesting and misunderstood, just like us!
I really wish more people could see how great they are instead of just believing the bad stuff in the movies.
And now we're onto a different subject so I'm going to shut up except to say:

The ones in the movies are always so scary looking or at least that's how they make them look. I'd love to meet one in person, just to make up my own mind.

I don't know what to choose as my favourite animal. This is really hard. There are so many I like, but I don't know how to tell if one calls to me more than any other.

i agree. i like them all! it's hard to choose. i do have those few that i favor above others, but i still don't actually hate any. Not even squirrels I just don't trust them at all. I fear some, i comfort some and some make me laugh but in the end i can't say that any are truly out of my favor. but that doesn't mean if i find a big poisonous spider on me i'm not gonna scream like a little school girl and panic.

but i've decided i really enjoy gold fish and koi of all their many flavors.

I have no room to talk on this one.
I asked the question and I still haven't come up with an answer
again there are so many different animals I like but for different reasons.
Perhaps that is the question .....

hahaha. not to eat you silly cat! Okay, you can eat them, but i like just looking at them. but then again i've never tried to eat them....hmm... but they ARE fun to swat at. So you cook 'em i'll try 'em and if i don't like it you can have the rest, deal?

Curried Carp is supposed to be quite good ...not sure I fancy eating the fabled Nishigikoi though.
As far as I know the Koi carp is a decendant of various carp but the main one is the Grass carp that the japanese used to farm for food then as they do they discovered that if they crossed them with Mirror carp and one or two others they could make them pretty as well as tasty.

I do like Koi carp a lot especially the ones with the large mirror scales on their sides.
Having worked with fish at one point I always liked it when a large fish came into the shop.
There are quite a few that you can have a really good conversation with, some that stick in my memory are Green Severum, Sailfin Catfish, Angel Fishand African Synodontis catfish

There are others and not always the biggies but those are quite common ones to find in peoples aquariums so next time you spot a fish wandering round the front of a big glass aquarium ,try saying hello ..you might be pleasantly surprised.

Incidentally all the fish I mentioned up there are actually eaten in their country of origin.

I'm not a were, but I do have a fancy for Black Panthers. I just love how sleek and dark, and stealthy they are. That, and they're so beautiful looking too.
