I just wondered if you thought that Dragons had ever been really real? Like in a body, roaming the lands and flying in our earthly skies?
Or do you think that they are creatures who have only ever existed in the Astral, dreams and stories from myths and legends?

Byakko- 08-01-2008
I don't believe that dragons ever existed physically on this earth. I do, however, believe that they exist on a separate plane as physical creatures.

I would say that they never existed physically on this world at least. But in other dimensions of reality, and in so many other ways in our world they do exist.

ComeToMe- 08-02-2008
There have been some pretty convincing things said to prove that Dragons 'could' have existed. From how they lived and how they flew, to how they died without leaving bones to be found and identified. It isn't proof, but it's a fasctinating proof of possibility, and that is all many of us have for who and what we are.

I know some people who talk to them in the Astral, and I know some people who know them as guardians of Portals and gateways, and I believe that at one time they have been as alive as I am right now, and just as real. But that eventually they felt that the safe time for real Dragons was over and moved into the Astral for safety and privacy.

I believe dragons did exist. at once. I mean How would we even know about them? and how would we know about what they look like?

Well we don't know we're right about what we think they look like. I mean, most of our conceptions of dragons are like dinosaurs with wings. The human imagination has come up with many creatures that exist on other planes. Whose to say the myths weren't started by otherkin or someone who met one of these beings in their astral travels?

As both sentences apply to me, Would I be one of those by any chance...

I have always considered Dragons to be able exist on all planes. but the reason most people don't see them now is because the dragons choose not to let them.
Certainly the guardians are extremely powerful beings and capable of being seen, and influencing things on this plane but I haven't seen one that was physically "touchable" if thats a good phrase. At least not for a very long time.

But then whose to say they are just myths, and that our ideas of what they look like aren't based on actual creatures that were real once?
I think I like Zygo's idea of them existing but keeping themselves invisible. I have no idea how they would do it, but I like it. otherkin/lol.gif
I believe in the 'realness' of Dragons, and want to see one that is physically touchable. But I want to see 'real' everythings. Just greedy I guess.

This is really hard to answer, because it all depends on what you mean by real, or at least what you are thinking of when you say real.
Real could mean that they exist, or it could mean that they lived in body and you could touch them. Both of these could be represented by the word real, but they are two completely different concepts.

The Dragons I have spoken to have said they have never been in body, solid object, real on the physical plane. But that doesn't mean that they are not real in every other sense of the word.
They exist, they are not just made up fantasy creatures. But no human would ever have seen one, and no evidence of their existence will ever be found in real terms.
So, do I think they ever roamed our lands and flew our skies? YES.
Do I think they were in solid physical bodies when they did these things? NO.
Do I think they are real? Oh YES. But I have never measured realness by whether a thing is touchable or not. Perception is more than just touch. If you can hear it talking and moving, and you can see it flying and walking, if you can feel it's breath and the breeze as it passes overhead then to me it is real. If you can sense it's presence and it's thoughts, and feel it's intentions and inner guidance, then what could be more real?

Ahh I love this post.

This post is why I joined.

It's good to be able to say hello to the person who wrote it and tell you that I loved what you wrote and how you wrote it.

I believe Dragons were real, and are real. Though saying this has had me banned from forums before now.
I remember flying over woodland and fields, feeling the tips of my wings touch the tree tops and trailing my feet in the cool waters of lakes as I pass by on hot summer days.
Were these trees and lakes physical? I couldn't say because I don't know what physical means to you.
What I can say is that they were as physical and real as I was at the time, and so were as real as they could be, to me.

I think we have a fairly good idea of what Dragons look like.
Dragons as I know them from pictures all have similarities to my personal Dragon image (wings, tails, scales, etc) and I know what I look like as a Dragon because I've seen myself. I can't be very unique in my appearance since all the pictures I've ever seen have something about them that I recognise, so that makes me think that Dragons in general must look more or less pretty similar to me. Or I to them, whichever way you want to put that.

Well as an apparently up and coming home for misfits and drop-outs and those who fit no-where else you won't get banned for saying it here. LOL

Erm I prefer to think of it as a safe haven from the intimidating tyrants who have no tolerance for those of us who do not fit in and who refuse to conform and lie about themselves in order to be acceptable to these bullies!
But basically I suppose what you said is not what you would call technically inaccurate. otherkin/wink.gif

I would say so too.
Even the more way out descriptions of dragons are still pretty obviously dragons.
Probably the most difficult are the Wyrms because they don't entirely fit the description although they still fly, are agelessly old and obviously intensely powerful beings.

I am one for the description of real being that if you can perceive it (observe it in some way) then it is real. too much is made of the physical realm for my liking.
Dragons are out there and have been since we started.... we know that because we have observed them and interacted with them.
