The problem arises when new kin have their first introduction to facts about Otherkin from sites like the ones under discussion.

Unlike Castle Otherkin, these sites will not say: "Look around and find out everything you can, take onboard what fits you personally and walk away from anything you are uncomfortable with. If there is anything you think any of us can help you with you will always know where to find us, because we will always be right here, and you will always be welcome here."
No these are the sites that say: "This is what we say is the truth. If you want to be welcome here then you must believe it too. You cannot think anything other than what we teach or you are no longer welcome here. If you go anywhere else and find out anything that makes you post up and disagree with us you will be banned as a trouble maker without delay and with no chance to appeal."

Newly awakened kin are not confident enough to go against this kind of blackmail, and most of them are so pitifully grateful to have found people who do not laugh at them that they feel loyalty to these people/forums and so would never consider doing anything which might hurt or upset them.

I do not agree with places which try to take away your personal freedom.
They have the right to exercise their personal freedom to be anything they wish...Even if I don't understand why they would want to.
However they do not have the right to hold anothers personal freedom to ransom for fear of beng out in the cold, lost and alone again.
For this reason I agree that we should do everything we can to heighten the profile of Castle Otherkin, in order to give them somewhere to come to just to be whoever and whatever they are. And the freedom to think and feel whatever they need to.
