Well Storms and Heavy Weather is exactly the right place for this.

Don't misunderstand me, I love rain, but this IS summer or at least it's supposed to be!
I have had almost my entire crop of wild flowers and herbs ruined by this constant wet weather.
I do have some reserves dried and stored from last year and the year before, but there are some things that are much better made with fresh ingredients. I would cry but there is enough dampness here already.
I am so frustrated. For every day of fine weather we get we have to pay for it with 4 days of rain and high winds.
The flowers have just enough time to open and begin to look promising, then the rain comes along and either knocks the flower/seed heads off altogether or they get so wet and stay so damp that they just rot on the plant.

Oh I am a very fed up Elf.
There my first rant, and I must admit although it hasn't made the weather any more co-operative, I feel much better.

-smiles- I can understand what you mean ED, over here in the US we've been getting our own fair share of rain as well. I was actually amazed it didn't rain while we were moving stuff from Austin to Dallas, glad really. It's been nice, though it has rained from time to time since.

Oh Elvin that is such a shame. I am so sorry to hear that.

Thankyou for your lovely thought Lady C, I am only sounding off really. There is nothing anyone can do about the weather. Not even you. LOL
I am aware that as problems go in the world today it is a very small one. Teeny Weeny in fact. But this is a very important personal problem and I am finding it rather irritating.
I do have reserves, both frozen and dried so I will not be left without, but I do like to use fresh ingredients when I can.
Still I will have to make do with what I have and hope it's not too difficult to alter recipes and make changes, as amounts for frozen and dried differ greatly from fresh.
Still work is what keeps me from insane boredom.

If it is of any help Elvin I could keep an eye open for anything which might be of use to you while I am out and about.
I sometimes see some unusual plants kicking about so if there is anything you are short of let me know and I can tell you where, if I see any, it is.
That way you can pick it when the time is right for you.

Oh Elvin I know just what you mean.
We have had floods and rivers overflowing and schools closing and all kinds of other things happeneing.
I hadn't thought about how bad the weather was for things like that. I don't have to worry about things like flowers and plants (just how long the grass on the lawn is) so I guess I'm lucky, but I am so sorry it's making things so hard for you.
I hope the weather gets better before it is too late to do you any good.

I love the rain. The feel of it and especially the sound of it.
However even I can see there might come a time when enough of a good thing can tip over to become too much.
If you can ignore the pun (or even if you can't) I think we've reached saturation point with all this rain. Enough now.

I also love rain, but I agree with you there has been too much now. I'm not even sure rain in these amounts is a good thing. It does so much damage.
