I agree with the above that has been said. I believe that restrictions need only be applied to someone who causes trouble.

So I vote YAY to remove moderated posting for the new peoples.

I vote YAY. One thing that made me feel so welcome here was the fact that nobody tried to tell me what to say or not to say. I'm a member of a forum where all the posts are moderated, and it does make it seem... stiff in the least.

I also vote YAY and believe this would be nicer to go away. I very much believe we need to find other ways to protect ourselves against spammers, attackers and those who could try to make this forum a less nice place, but the current method probably isn't the best way to.

Probably the best system would be to have moderators around and once someone says the first really bad thing they get suspended from posting and the admins may talk with them in PM and see what was with them or something else.

Keep the forum friendly but dynamic and no doubt controversial just the way we like it (we do, don't we?). It might be a bit more work in the long run but if I didn't want to work at this I wouldn't have started here in the first place.

I vote Yay, people can go through the long process of accumulating their posts to post freely and then flame, or just be plain mean, after wards. People are just that thick headed.
