So in a few short hours History is going to be made, no matter which way you see it.

The result of the election will have a huge effect on the world not just the US.
So for those in time to post, who are you wanting to win/
And after the election results are you satisfied?

Personally I'm hoping Obama gets in.

When_Im_Gone- 11-04-2008
I don't truly care who gets in.

Nishyla- 11-04-2008
I don't really care who makes it either..I mean I am more democratic than a republican so naturally I go for Obama..but I have told everyone this I am sixteen and I have no opinion yet so why ask me?lol. My mother this morning while voting(I have to help her read it cuz of her bad eyes) asked me who she should vote for and I told her that. She voted for Mcain..first time the woman has voted republican...She tells me that Obama is the "anti-christ" so I dunno..

but I do wish for it to be over..It is getting rather old to hear about..and we still have another month of listening to those who supported the winner brag and those who supported the loser groan and mope about it..

otherkin/spider.gif btw..just random...love the spider....it will overrule the bunnies one day and take over teh world...HAHAHA spider..spread the wealth

I am watching the results come in whilst also watching the movie "Death of a President", which has to be the most depressing movie for anyone to have to watch while they are still president and therefore a living, breathing, moving target. Especially if they ARE President Bush!

I am cheering for Obama too.
Having been told that McCain is to make abortions illegal except under certain, special circumstances I cannot do anything else.
I have always believed that it is the woman's right to decide.
Obama says he also believes in the woman's right to choose.

It is one small point and may be insignificant to many, but it is a very important thing to me.
I know that thousands of women fought hard for many years for the right to make the hardest choice any woman ever has to make. To terminate or not.
No-one else can make a choice like that for you, especially not a stranger. I believe that it would put us back centuries to have the right to a legal abortion revoked.

I am not sure about him being the Anti-christ Nishyla, but it's an interesting thought. smile.gif

Fingers crossed that the one who wins is the right one for the job. We all need him in the White House, more than we need just about anything else.

ComeToMe- 11-04-2008
Barack Obama is the next President of the United States.

It's official, although all the votes have not been counted yet, Obama has enough of the vote to be elected.

This is the beginning of a new age, now we wait and see what that means for us all.

Happy Election day. smile.gif

Yes Farshief that means that the flags come down tomorrow. otherkin/lol.gif

Nishyla- 11-04-2008
the winner is Obama...He has won..My mother is scared as she says now..and says we are going to see the end soon...*sigh* but I think the change will be good. Republican has ruled to long...So..hopefully our nation has made a right choice...

Farshief- 11-04-2008
Well, Obama just won.

I really didn't care who got in although I think I favored Obama more and probably would've voted for him had I been able to.

I agree with Nishyla though, we still have another month or two even of people bragging or groaning about.

I truly do hope that Obama will be the right one for the job and do good thing and prove all these racist, or religiously prejudice people wrong.

As Nishyla just said to me, it sucks to be an empath right now. We can both fell fear emanating from our parent(s) over Obama being the 'anti-christ' and such. I hope I don't have to endure this much at school or use my shields to block out everyone else's feelings.

So can we take these flags and eagles down now and put up some colours that go better with purple and blue? Perhaps back to the original theme since it is not yet time for Christmas decor?

Wishing I was in the UK right now where this wouldn't affect me so much,

I think people will settle down, and I hope for both your sakes that it happens soon, and that school is not so bad.

Yes Farshief, panic not, we go back to the original space full of stars tomorrow.

Then at the beginning of December, Santa comes to stay for a while. otherkin/687.gif YAY

I'm insanely happy that Obama won and I don't have to move to Canada now. I voted in 2004, but this election I really felt like I was a part of something larger than myself.

zygopterix- 11-05-2008
I have a good feeling about Obama that just wasnt there with George W Bush.
I thought at the time that if Al Gore had been given a chance we would be in a very different environment today so hopefully Barack Obama will have that something we all need and we'll have a positive upturn to global events from now on.
Having heard only yesterday about McCain's stand on abortion I was first put right off him and second extremely pleased that America doesn't like him either. That kind of out dated small minded legislation would have dealt a devastating blow to all modern ideals.

"anti-christ"? the stuff parents tell there children.

I can see that there are gonig to be a few months of brags or groans.
To be honest, I think even if McCain won the election after his term in office people will hate him. If they don't now.
Same for Obama. He's got a tough four years ahead to be fair, given the state of things and i think that people will vote the other way next time because of this. Hes got a global ecomony crisis to help sort out, its not going to be easy.

I'm pleased Obama won, and like Zygo says I get a better vibe from him too.
I'm with you on the racist and religous prejustice part Farshief.

Edited:
As for being young and not caring/apathetic towards the voting, I'm only 17, not american but still taking an interest.

In a few years time some of you younger ones will be voting. You should care about who gets in and wins elections, becuase you have a chance to have a say, in some places people would die for that. You should care who gets in for the changes they will make and how it will benefit things. Not throw it away or still silent when the time comes.
The outcome of these kind of elections not only changes one country but some times the world.
And lets face it whatever affects America is sure to affect the UK.

scars- 11-05-2008
Wasnt much of a choice was it?. You either voted for the young, good looking black guy...or the guy who looks like the spooky preacher from poltergeist 2 lmao.

Shade- 11-05-2008
The truth is whatever country you live in there's never much of a choice, and you can listen to them make campaign speeches until your ears drop off and you still won't know if they're telling you the truth or lying their asses off just to get in.
Only time will tell you if they are a good choice or not. If they are vote them in again, if they're not, hope they can't do too much damage in the time they're in charge, and vote for the other guy next time.

Good luck to us all, and may fortune favour the brave. (Or in my specific case, the incredibly foolish.)

terri-vale- 11-06-2008
to be honest i was rooting for Obama, the only thing i dont like about the election so that it is taken so seriously by the UK.
we werent even voting and people wouldnt stop going on about it or takling about it.
i guess thats becuase of the sda fact that whatever happens in the US directly effects the UK, so im hoping with this new turn of events that we should soon be reaping the rewards back here.
right now we have the US under control with a decent leader, lets work on shifting Brown.

Farshief- 11-06-2008
GD, The reason I really don't give a flying flip who gets in is because I have grown up having republican ideals planted within my head. So I can't exactly trust my own judgement. I found that I was liking Mcain just because my parents liked him. It wasn't something I could help.

Also, I didn't pay attention to the election because honestly, I have other things to do. I have to be at school and then had after school stuff and I just didn't get to see enough information and views of the canidates to have an opinion myself. Thus is why I told a few people that if I could vote, I don't know that I would.

Frankly, everyone on here that has spoken has a good feeling about Obama, and that is enough for me.

I also agree with Shade, how are we suppose to differentiate between who is lying out their bums or telling the truth?

I am really glad this election is over and hope all the hype calms down quickly and we can all get back to our normal lives.

If Barack Obama screws our country over, there isn't much we can do about it for the next four years. So why whine, just wait for another election and hope that someone decent comes along that we can elect.(Of course then we have to worry about that new person being decent and how that they don't screw our country over even more as well.)

Now then, Camille, where was this normal forum imagery that I was promised? tongue.gif

No, but seriously, those fireworks are lagging the heck out of my browser,
