Have you seen any good movies lately or ever?

Then please recommend them to the rest of the forum.
Share with us, however briefly you want, what you liked about it and if you'd watch it again.
But don't spoil the ending OK? otherkin/lol.gif

I love movies and I'm looking forward to finding out about a few I have missed seeing, and perhaps not missing some good movies because of your recommendations. smile.gif

I haven't seen the Boondock Saints but if it has this reaction in you perhaps I should. otherkin/lol.gif
I really enjoyed The Mothman Prophecies, and I adore The Lake House with Keanu Reaves and Sandra Bullock. That is an amazing movie.
I am looking forward to seeing the new Fantastic Four movie, and of course I can't wait for the new Harry Potter movie to come out on DVD. rolleyes.gif

ComeToMe- 10-18-2007
I have not seen The Boondock Saints either, so thankyou for that Katie.
I have seen both the movies you mentioned DarkeDesire, of the two I was more impressed by The Lake House, but they are both good movies and worth seeing.
Has anyone seen 'It' based on the book by Stephen King? An excellent movie for many reasons, if you like creepy movies that make you jump out of your seat this would be a good one to try.

Shadow Stalker- 10-19-2007
oh is that the one were it has the Killer Clown that comes out of the toliet and kills u? if it is i was forced to watch it when i was little-er

Shade- 11-05-2007
Yes Killer I think that's the same movie.
I find that particular movie incredibly creepy.
The way he says "We all float down here!" Ughhh!!!

I enjoy Kin based movies, but also enjoy feel good movies/comedies like Parenthood starring Steve Martin, and Fletch starring Chevy Chase.

I watched a really great movie about a week ago called The Last Holiday, starring Queen Latifah as a woman who is informed she only has a few weeks to live and so decides to quit her job and live what is left of her life doing exactly what she's always wanted to do. It is funny, sweet, cheering and sad all at the same time.

I adore movies like this.

DarkAngel- 11-05-2007
The Movie "IT" is a classic movie, it's great. And yes, it is the movie where the clown comes out of the toilet/sewers.

I went and saw Saw IV the other day, and it wasn't all that bad, but not as gory or messed up as the first 3. But it was good none the less.

Ugh! Don't fancy watching the Saw movies. Seem a bit blood thirsty to me!! otherkin/chained.gif

I just watched The Devil Wears Prada. It was fantastic. Has anyone else seen it?

Meryl Streep is amazing as the lead. Running a fashion magazine has never seemed so interesting. Photo shoots, trips to Paris fashion shows, making designers sit up and take notice of what she thinks. She excells in this role that gives her plenty of scope even though she is not a young actress anymore. She manages to be attractive, powerful, dynamic and absolutely irresistible.
Brilliant supporting cast too. I haven't enjoyed a movie this much in ages. From beginning to end I was rivetted.
Marvellous.

SolitaryMoonlight- 11-22-2007
Yes I've seen The Devil Wears Prada, it was fantastic, though I thought Andy was an ungrateful brat!!
She could have had a more realistic approach to the world!
A million girls would have killed for that job!!!! otherkin/lol.gif

I have to do it to you all now, and I apologise but..................
Harry Potter and the Order of The Pheonix.
I have just bought for, and watched this movie with, my children. They were very impressed, but I was disappointed. There were very large and obvious gaps in the movie, and I think more could have been done with what was a very good book.
I mean let's face it, in truth none of the Potters are destined to become literary classics like 'A Tale of Two Cities' or 'Romeo and Juliet', and I'm not sure that's a bad thing. But it was a better book than the movie suggested, and deserved to be treated with more truth, and greater attention to detail than it was.
Now is not the time to start cutting corners, but that is what it felt like. Though I did enjoy it, I was left feeling dissatisfied and wanting more!
Ahh well, roll on next year and the new adaptation of the next book. otherkin/687.gif

No need for apologies on that, it was in truth slightly disappointing when it came to the movie, it could have been a bit better, and followed the book a bit better than it did. That's why i hate reading the books then watch the movies because you end up catching all the gaps, and things they did wrong in them.

And I was going to mention another movie, but it's slipped my mind as so much has been doing as of late.

I agree the earlier HP movies were longer and much better for it.
Cutting bits out only makes for bitty movies and assumes that all hp fans have read the books.

I have read them all and and found that I was spending quite a long time thinking about what they took out instead of watching the film.
If they keep going like this the last movie will be 50mins long and show what happens in the last two books.

very poor show from Warner Bros I think.

yea but I went and say that Beowolf moving and it was awesome! lots of action and adventure then I saw the Hitman Movie it was really good to very bloody otherkin/lol.gif

SolitaryMoonlight- 12-29-2007
I've just watched "The Return" starring Sarah Michelle Geller and Peter O'Brien. (Do you remember Shane from Neighbours?)
It is about a young woman named Joanne, (Geller) who, in ways she does not understand, has a psychic link to the murder of a young woman that happened 15 years before. Finding herself in the town where the killing took place she begins a nightmare journey to discover the identity of the muderer.
Oooh this was a really GOOD creepy movie. It made me jump several times and I love movies that can do that!

DarkAngel- 01-01-2008
Well, just the other day, I went and saw the new movie "Sweeney Todd" with Johnny Depp in it. It was a great movie, and one of the only movies I've seen Johnny Depp Sing in, but it was the grea-*test*-('") movie ever, and I plan on buying it when it comes out on video.

~DA~ otherkin/angel boy.GIF

DarkeDesire- 01-02-2008
DS, you should buy it on DVD.
Videos are almost extinct man. There days are numbered, like Dinosaurs and smoking in public. otherkin/687.gif
I like Johnny Depp. Not too cute, but a good actor. Can't wait to see him sing!! otherkin/lol.gif
I'll keep watch for that.
Thanks.
