DS, you should buy it on DVD.
Videos are almost extinct man. There days are numbered, like Dinosaurs and smoking in public. otherkin/687.gif
I like Johnny Depp. Not too cute, but a good actor. Can't wait to see him sing!! otherkin/lol.gif
I'll keep watch for that.
Thanks.

lol Darke, pardon me and my "old ways" so to speak. I did mean when it came out on DVD I would have to get it. I apologize, I grew up with video tapes, and I guess the habit of calling all things on film videos has yet to have left me. But Johnny Depp was great at singing in that movie, it's definitely a must see kind of movie.

Aww sorry ~DS~.

I was just being a bit cheeky. otherkin/lol.gif
Videos were THE big thing weren't they? Mind you with the coming of Blue Ray it doesn't look like DVD's are going to last anywhere near as long as videos before they get replaced by the next big thing. otherkin/sad-smiley-056.gif
And you definitely don't have to apologise for still being video minded. It's not your fault you're so old.

zygopterix- 01-04-2008
oh hey young whipper snapper....
I remember a time when there weren't any videos .....or CD's.
In fact I remember black and white TV with a dial and no buttons and only having 3 channels and no remote control.

I also remember a time when if you saw it at the cinema you had to wait 4 years for it to come on to TV.

And we lived in a cardboard box in the middle of a PUDDLE and we were happy with that. otherkin/lol.gif

otherkin/lol.gif Zygo, I still remember Ataris and A-tracks, and the old black and white tv's with only knobs and no remotes and the like. It's been so long since I've heard of those things.

Shade- 01-04-2008
Oh for the love of....
What are you two up to now???

Walking down a memory lane lit by gas lamps, with a little match girl on every corner and horses pulling carriages parked by the kerbs? otherkin/lol.gif

Honestly, I should think you were happy with that Zygo, WE didn't even have a cardboard box!!! WE had to make do with a large paper bag. otherkin/sad-smiley-056.gif

lol well, that's a little farther back than even I can go lol, though in human years i am only 23, or will be within the next 4 days (yay for getting older lmao, though it seems as if everything went down hill when I hit 21), but anyways.

DarkeDesire- 01-06-2008
Oooh, you're not that much older than me!

I'm 21 this May.

How come I don't remember Atari's then? Is it another of those guy things?

zygopterix- 01-06-2008
oooh atari's came out about eight years or so years before you were born Darke. The original one was released in 1977.
Mind you the original space invaders machines were about that time too.
My Dad came home with a sinclair zx81 when I was about 10. It had 1k ram and it took 5 minutes to load any games on to it from a tape.
Now you can't even get programs that small never mind computers that could run on 1k ram otherkin/lol.gif

DarkAngel- 01-06-2008
LOL not really a guy thing Darke, more of a errr.... Geek thing lol, that and I had grandparents that had one, and would let me and my sister play on it when I was a child. And true, you are quite close in age with me, though I turn 23 in less than 2 days (goddess I feel old lmao).

And yeah, Atari's were before my time, but even as a kid I still knew of them, and played them as well. My family was kind enough to see to that, at least my grandparents were. And I so remember space invaders, I've seen a revamped version of it on one of my Grand Theft Auto games, I believe it was San Andreas that has it that you can play. That and I remember Centipede, the original pac-man, and so many other games lol.

Anyways, back to Movies, anyone else see Sweeney Todd yet?

Not yet DA but I plan to Jonny Depp is a fine actor.

I just watched the movie about the World Trade Centre Disaster with Nicholas Cage.
I think it's very inspiring and powerful, but so very sad.

DarkAngel- 01-22-2008
Well, I've been watching movies at the theater a few times the last week or two, and the ones that I mainly remember seeing are The Orphanage, Cloverfield, and One Missed Call. The Orphanage was a good thriller, mostly about past wrongs and the like. Cloverfield was just rediculous cuz it was kind of like a cross between The blair Witch Project and Godzilla. It had the camera shots of the first, and a retarded monster like the 2nd. Then One Missed call was only good because at every like, thriller moment, every teenage girl in the theater would scream. Other than that, it wasn't all that bad of a movie.

God how do you manage to go to the cinema DarkAngel?
I hate it, all the people coughing their worries, hates, sadness and fury into the air so it hangs over everyone and everything like a cloud of angry poisonous gas!
They've either had a bad day at work/school, had a row with their husband/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend/mother/father/boss etc etc, they've lost keys/purses/wallets/loved ones/their tempers/their minds, they hate work/their parents/their kids.............Oh help the list is endless

It takes so much out of me just keeping it away from me that I can't concentrate on the film!
So I wait for DVD's and watch them at home, in peace, with a nice glass of something chilled and some choccies. otherkin/687.gif

DarkAngel- 01-23-2008
-chuckles softly- I seem to have the bad habit of losing myself in whatever I am watching. I end up tuning out everything else around me, even to the point where I don't even notice when someone is talking straight to me. I guess it's kind of good when it comes to those kinds of situations and all.

Yes, I would say you're lucky DA.

But if you ever feel like joining me for a movie night, just bring a nice bottle of something for me to chill and I'll provide the choccies. otherkin/687.gif
