I remember seeing a program once (Jacques Cousteau I think) where these islands had formed with long underwater caves running inland from the sea to various different sized lakes so the water in the lakes was salty and replenished with the tides but because the tunnels were so long it meant that the species in the lakes were isolated from the outside world and had developed to be unique to that environment.(Rock Sound, Eleuthera OCEAN HOLE is one example..I couldn't find any of the others)
I wonder if those circumstances might fit for the body of water that would presumably go next to the fiery furnace.

ooo i wonder what life we'd be bringing to the castle? new and wonderous things! and darke's very correct. it'd have to be all natural-like. we could create the type of water that's near underwater volcanoes! those are pretty sweet. plus you'd get the benefit of natural cleanliness, warmth, strange life, and jets! and it'd prolly make some sort of island and sort of grow on its own. ooo! maybe we could have it reach under the wall and go outside into the grounds! then it could do what it wanted! Ya know, if you think that's good... since it's yo furnace and water tends to steam things up a bit.

Hey if this is really an idea that's going to fly, (or maybe swim lol) it should be proposed by someone. I will if no-one else wants to, or I'll second anyone who wants to propose it.
I love to swim.... Even my kitty loves to swim if the water is warm and slightly brackish. (salty)

So how about it people, do we want a pool for the merfolk and other swimming beasts. I bet there are Dolphin kin out there somewhere.
