I was just thinking about it, and wondering how many of you own a Tarot Card deck?

I have a much loved one that I've owned for a few years now called The Tarot of The Moon Garden. It's absolutely beautiful, and such an interesting deck to read. It makes interpreting the cards so much more fun than just reading the book and giving out someone else's interpretation of what the reading means.

I'd love to hear about your experiences with Tarot, your favourite decks, good or bad readings you've had, where you keep your deck, how often you use them, or even special decks you've seen and would love to own. There are some really lovely cards out there now.

I'd be interested in talking to any of you about any of this. I've been out of this for such a long time, and I'd love to be able to talk to people and catch up on what I've missed.

Apart from the moon garden I have never seen a deck to suit me.
I once bought a pack oon the strength of about 6 cards in a book but regretted it so much when I saw the pictures on the rest of the cards that I actually took it back.
That was a long time ago and unfortunately I can't remember the name of the deck.
I would love to find an it suits Zygo Deck but I guess I am picky because its taking a looong time..

i have experimented with tarrot but i found it just a bit to vague, ive started getting inot using pendulums instead because i just find them easier to use.

i know GD is very inot his deck, he should reply soon. i know his done a few readings for me in the past.

Yes I have tarot card. They were given me as a christmas present, Not the best way to end up with a deck, but they do work.

The pictures are really interesting and I love the deck so its beena great gift. I don't practice with them as much as I would like to, but from the readings I have done for myself Iv'e had many good ones, in so far as they have worked out.

I was told in one reading that I would meet a new person who would lead me away from the past and that I would share a great summer with him. I did meet a great person before this summer and had one of the best summers with them.

I admit it's not the easiest deck to read, but it feels right to me, and the images on some of the cards are really lovely.

Darkness

Not really. I dabbled a bit, but never have found the time for them.
I do like Runestones, and was a fan if the I-Ching for a longtime, but they can be quite complicated, and speaking of Oriental things, Feng Shui is just crazy! lol
Some of the things they want you to do for luck make no sense to me, so if anyone has any information about how it works, and can explain it in small, easy to understand words I'd be grateful.

I have a deck, I don't know if you would consider them tarot cards, but they are Angel Heart and Soul cards. *pets the pretty pictures*

I'm more interested in my new hobby, Personology. It's kinda like astrology, but it takes in time of birth, year of birth, position of the planets. ^^ Lots of fun stuff like that.

I'm not sure what other people think about what makes a Tarot Card legitimate, but I think if they are used to divine the future then they could be called Tarot cards Chloe.
I love the pictures on some of them, my favourites are the Dragon tarot. If you like Dragons the pictures are stunning, and they are lovely to read aswell.

Doesn't astrology include time of birth and position of planets when they calculate your charts?
I've never heard of Personology, how long have you been into this? More info please, if you have it.

Well i don't know much about astrology, but Personology is all about charts and a wheel. The charts tell you numbers, you look up the numbers in the planet's section of the book and you compare it to your personal chart.
It's like the easier version of astrology probably.
I just started out, I'm starting on something easy so I can get really into tarot and astrology.

Do you use number squares (similar to Sudoku) to make part of the prediction?


I have never been able to work out if you are supposed to put a full stop after a question mark or not. I get the feeling from looking at it that you don't but English is such a silly language sometimes that I am by no means sure.

Personology sounds interesting Chloe, and I think it's a great idea to start with something you find easy to understand and then build up to something more complicated.
Tarot is a really great skill to have, but it can get very complicated if you go for big readings using lots of cards, especially if they cross the questioner and each other. Some readings can take ages.
I must admit I usually stick to the simpler ones that use about 7-10 cards, tell simple past and present, and concentrate mostly on the future readings.
After all the questioner knows about their past and has a pretty good idea about their present. They came for their future reading, so you owe it to them to cut straight to the info they want.

Good luck with your personology Chloe, maybe I could get you to give me a reading when you're more comfortable with the skill? I love having my future divined.

Well the only time you really use numbers is on the chart in the back of the book, to figure out where the planets were on that day, or where the moon was. Then it transfers to a wheel with the different zodiacs on it. There's like 49 different positions of the different planets and moon. It's kinda hard to explain. ^^

Hi Chloe. Yes that makes sense. the one I remember reading and trying out used various means to produce a square of numbers which then applied the persons name to and drew out a pattern depending on the letters of the name they used....also complicated and, I think a branch of numerology, but what you ended up with was a personal Sigil that is excellent to use when you are charging spells and especially amulets with your desired purpose.

I am interested in this as well Chloe so any more information you can post would be very cool. It is nice to hear about something that has so many possibilities to work the prediction from.

A reliable sigil maker could be very useful for the wiccans and other magic makers, plus anyone who wants to try making an amulet that is personal to them.

I've got some animal totem cards, they kind of work the same way, but I'm not sure they're actual Tarot cards.

I've seen a few Tarot decks but I daren't buy any. They're frowned on in my house, the work of the devil and all that, so it would start a new apocolypse if I was found with any. My nan would bless everything in the entire house, and my mum would put bottles of holy water and candles everywhere.
