Does being Otherkin give me any special abilities?

It depends what you mean by special abilities.
Being Otherkin is not about having magical powers, so if you mean things like physically growing fangs or wings, or flying unaided then no, for most otherkin there are no special abilities. Some will tell you these things are possible and I cannot tell you that they are not, I can only tell you I have never seen them happen, none of them, not even once. And none of the people who will tell you it can be done, will tell you or show you how, as it usually happens that they cannot do it themselves either.
There are some things you might be able to do, you might hear better, or have a heightened sense of smell.
You might pick up on the feelings of others, especially anger and hate and sorrow as they are the strongest feelings.
But mostly Kin-ness is much more a case of how you think about yourself, accepting the fact that you're different and looking at the world differently from others. It's about having different reactions to things and situations, and seeing things that others might not, or noticing things that others might not think are important.
