I have heard great things about it, but I've never seen it.

I would love to see it live as I love live theatre, but I also want to see the movie because I love Taye Diggs.

I think I've got more chance of seeing the movie though, because I just don't have the time to travel to a show right now. But Taye will make that alright.

Oh Gods how I hate musicals.
All those happy, cheery people looking on the bright side and bursting into song at the most inappropriate moments. Just makes me want to slap them!
If I'm to go to the theatre give me a good mystery or a thriller any time. Even a ballet or an opera, but not a musical. otherkin/lol.gif

I like good musicals, but bad ones make me cringe.
I haven't seen Rent so I have no way of knowing which of those it is! Though the buzz for it is good, so perhaps it would be worth seeing.

Mainly unless you live in big cities then you don't get the main stars in the shows. You have to put up with people who aren't good enough at it for you to ever have heard of them, so unless I'm going to see the big names in something I'd rather go to the movies.
I can see why the stars don't want to end up playing a small theatre in say Bognor or Watford, but it's still a shame we have to travel miles and pay tons to see them or put up with the second string.

If it's any good then they'll pay big stars to make a movie out of it anyway, so I would rather wait for that.
