they brought him back home last night, he's doing a bit better. he'll be on the couch downstairs, since going up to bed might pull at the staples and stitches.

i'm now out of a job *growls at the downsizing* so i may go visit them next week for a little while.

I am so pleased to hear that he is doing so well now. That's excellent news.
And although it is not great to be out of work at any time, if it means you get to visit with your dad right now I suppose it's hard to think of it as the worst thing in the world.
So what I'll say instead is that I hope you have a chance to visit them while you're on a short break from working, and I hope the visit goes really well for everyone.
Then I will say that I hope you very quickly find an even better job than the one you just lost.

Ah that's great news, I was a bit concerned when you said he was having trouble breathing on his own. I'm really glad it turned out to be just a matter of time.
You must all be so relieved.

It sucks about your job, though like Lady C says if you've got to be out of work at least you timed it well. lol
I hope you get a chance to visit with them too, it will be good to get a look at him so you can see for yourself how well he's doing. It might help you stop worrying about him as much.

Sleeping on the ground floor makes sense, I mean climbing stairs might be a bit of a strain at the moment.
I hope that he continues to recover as well as this, and he's feeling better very soon.
