Isn't the main reason a lot of people do it is because they feel it's wrong to eat the cow? At least that's what many vegetarians have told me their reason for starting was. Just makes me think they're discriminating against the fish and the chicken. I find it slightly hyprocritical.
I found this on wikipedia (which can be edited by basically anyone i think, so who knows about truth, but i'm pretty sure this is close) "Vegetarianism is the practice of a diet that excludes all animal flesh, including poultry, game, fish, shellfish or crustacea, and slaughter by-products[1] [2]. The reasons for choosing vegetarianism may be related to morality, religion, culture, ethics, aesthetics, environment, society, economy, politics, taste, or health."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegetarianismso according to that they're not really vegetarians. But i guess at least they're trying right? If they really want to give all that up and it makes them happy, good for them, but I think i'd just call them almost vegetarians. or white meat vegetarians. All i know is i'd probably go nutty bar if i couldn't eat meat ever again. meat's just so tasty when it's all tender and warm and has some sort of potatoes or beans with some sparce spices. mmmm. man i'm getting hungry just thinking about it. I think i need to go eat haha.
