Whispered secrets
Humming in the air.
Ghosts, wraiths, shadows
All play judgment on your soul
Do you see the dancing girl?
With long hair and broken eyes
Drifting through life
As one disguise to the next
She swirls about you
Whispering her secrets
Hoping you will save her
Or damn her
Forever.

I watched you walk down that path.
You went away from me.
I let you go.
It was your death
And I knew it.
How shall I mend this broken string?
How shall I be forgiven?
I loved you
Yet killed you
Your blood on my hands I weep
Even the salt won’t wash it from me.
I miss you.

Golden wings of glory
You swept before me
I never knew why
You chose here to fly
I gave you my heart
You gave me a soul
Forgiving me
And loving me
As I forgave you
And loved you
The clouds were our playground.

I see the mourning stars
Glistening in the black pools at my feet.
Blood.
It coats the world and begs me to bathe in it.
Distrusting shadows beg me to realize my insanity
But I can only smile.
I know what crazy is.
I know that I am wrong.
And yet I listen to the pools at my feet
And spill its great oceans upon the floor
So it may rejoice in life as I do
And cool in death as I do.
Oh pitiful being,
How could you know your fate?
How could you have known what darkness lies
In this poor madman’s soul?
Forgive me, dear heart.
Forgive me for taking joy in your pain.
Live now in the ever present light that awaits you.
Be free of this life’s tyranny.
And thank you.
