I had a really good friend whose name was Velvet Darkness. She wrote poetry and she was very good.
I have a selection of her poems that she gave me which I treasure. Some of them were written quite recently, but others were written quite some time ago.
I thought you might enjoy them.
So if you would permit it, I would like to share some of them with you.

I hope she reads this some time.
The classification of mankind Tidy boxes and neat little slots.
Envelopes and drawers marked socks.
People are judged and filed away,
You are put in a box and told to 'stay'.
Allocated a space to suit the masses,
In colour, creed, race, and various classes.
You're told that it keeps you safe from all dangers,
Bound and chained by the perception of strangers.
The way they see you and what they think
Do you smoke? Do drugs? How much do you drink?
How sad that where you're born and raised,
Could determine the way you'll end your days.
It's a crime that they think they have the right,
To categorise you by weight and height.
If you don't fit in you'll never make it.
If it doesn't come naturally, bloody well fake it!
To them all I scream from the highest hill.
I don't fit in and I NEVER WILL!!!!!!!!!!!
