Well, today I went to lay down and play around with my panther in my mind... I did this for a few minutes before I thought, well. I'm bored... I looked outside and it was a....Well, Someone normal would consider it a nice sunny spring day.

I hated it of course as the sun hurts my eyes. However, I put on my really good sunglasses and ventured outdoors. I rode my bike up and down the road a bit and enjoyed the feeling of the wind and then I decided to do what I actually ventured outside for...

I went across the road into the woods. Now, my really far away neighbors keep cows in there and I don't think I was supposed to go in there, but I did anyhow.

I walked and walked and walked way deep in and just went where ever I happened to go. I walked until I couldn't hear any more noises of lawnmowers or people talking loudly.

Just me and nature.

Then out of nowhere. Stumbled into a hive of bees.

Now, I have a MASSIVE...No wait....MASSIVE... Fear of bees, wasps, etc...

So I just like slowly backtracked and walked away... As soon as my heart left my throat and rejoined my vital organs in my chest... I decided to go back and take another way. Low and behold ANOTHER swarm of bees.

I backtracked yet again and walked out into a clearing.... I didn't notice where I was walking and walked into the middle of a flower patch....SWARMING WITH BEES...

I walked over to the nearest patch of flowerless area and stood and let my heart calm down and looked around, still not really detoured by nature's attempt to get me out of its midst. All of a sudden, standing there, not moving at all. Really enjoying nature. A Bee.... One bee starts flying around me as if to purposefully tell me to leave...

Needless to say, I left.

I walked away the way back to my house, back to my room, where I belong... Where it is safe.

I don't think I will be going back out to that area again. Although there is another area I may try in a little bit...

Now, on to a question. Why in the world do bees either hate, or love me?

I can handle wasps because they aren't so numerous or bothersome and fly higher where I can ignore them. However, bee with their sheer numbers scare the crap out of me.

It's not really good for me to enjoy nature to much because of my skin breaking out; But now, I can't enjoy nature at all it seems because of bees.

Any ideas/suggestions/comments?

Can't wait to hear them.
Thanks,

Bees are really in tune with other creatures emotions. I think they pick up pheromones, which aren't just things given off during heat. when you can smell a difference in someone it's because of the change in their pheromones, it's why fear, joy, sexual appetite all have different scents. Insects are really perceptive to this. If you're afraid of them, they know you're not their friend. Some scouts will follow the thing that's afraid to make sure it doesn't do anything it shouldn't in it's fear. What you have to do is just ignore them, or continually tell yourself that it's alright and as long as i don't hurt them, they won't hurt me. So just don't accidentally swat at one or step on one, and you're good.

hope that helps otherkin/687.gif

There is a lot of them though.... And when I hear that buzzing noise I just freaking die.

I am going to try to re-program my brain to like them otherkin/687.gif

that's creepy. haha,i had the same issue (i've been attacked by 3 different hives but that's because i accidentally swatted at a scout wasp) it helps if you center yourself and do minor meditation. i just chant over and over, if i dont hurt them, they wont hurt me. and that mostly works. the trick is believing it...

Farshief- 04-22-2008
Yeah, the trick is always believing, which just has to be the hard part otherkin/687.gif

Ahh well, in that case you would not have wanted to be me this morning when I set off for shopping and a very friendly Bee decided to come shopping with me....Especially since it apparently decided that the nicest, cosiest place it could think of to travel all that way was in my ear!!! otherkin/lol.gif
I had to get out of the car and, with much wafting of hands, ask it politely to exit both ear and car! otherkin/687.gif

I think I may have offended it. Hope not though.

If that would of happened to me i would of totally flipped and I have a idea carry a lighter with you and when a bee come nears you garb a stick with a few dead leaves and burn them to make smoke that well drive them away and then you done make sure the fires out or theirs the simple way and carrying bug replent and bee killer.

I don't want to kill anything...

There was a time when I would kill waspers or bees or anything small without hesitation but recently. I found myself apologizing for killing a fly; And I only killed it because it wouldn't leave my room. I kept trying to get him out.

There is also this poor birdy that wakes me up with the sun every morning by crashing into my windows.

I will just suffer I suppose. I can't kill it.

But yeah, I won't kill one purposefully.

I don't know why I've recently suffered a change of heart. I just seem to be viewing all forms of life with a higher regard.

I would assume it is my changed view on the world though.

Yeah, don't kill the bee's unless they form a hive in your room. Then you should get the experts to remove it. otherkin/687.gif

Camille, That sucks about what happens with the bee in your ear. I would have had a heart attack.

would opening the window help your little morning caller.
He might end up in your room but I bet he would appreciate not crashing into the window.

Actually the two could be linked in finding a way to help you live with nature.
As you said your attitude has changed and you don't want to kill them ...maybe thats the point of the whole thing.

Getting attacked by swarms of bees doesn't sound like much fun! If you get attacked like that I don't blame you for being afraid of them.

Well, you may think I'm cruel, but I have an insect collection. I keep it for 4-H. But I never kill more than one of a kind. And lately I've been thanking the insect's spirit after it dies. I've been that way with most meat lately, actually, thanking the animal that gave its life so I could eat.

I don't really have anything to say to help you. I think everyone else has already had wonderful ideas. Good luck with your bee problem!
