I have been doing some more research into my "past life" memories and I have found an anomoly.
So I would like to run the problem by you all and see if anyone has ever noticed anything similar or had the same problem.

Basically:
I can't find any memories which are of myself as a child.
No matter where I look my memories start out later in the lifetime than childhood. Almost as if being a child doesn't exist
Some of my memories popped up in this lifetime, when I was around 3 or so and even those are from an adult point of view.

Any thoughts would be welcome?

I'm not going to pretend I know that much about past life memories, but maaybe something bad happened to your past self as a child and your spirit doesn't want to revisit that memory...?
I mean, it happens to us in the present a lot; blocked memories...if it was bad/painful enough, your entire soul might be rejecting it...

Just a thought...I'm sure someone will come up with something better, tho ^.^

Maybe because your Kin-ness doesn't usually start until you're in your mid to late teens, or even later sometimes, the past lives don't begin to store any memories until you awaken?
With a few variations to take into consideration the time period in which you were a child, those developmental memories would be the same. What would be the use of a bunch of memories of being a human child over and over?

You left me nothing to say, between the two of you, Airelinn and Kes, you covered both the options I was considering. otherkin/sad-smiley-056.gif

Now what am I to do? I suppose I'll have to go away and make something up and then come back. otherkin/lol.gif

Maybe being a child doesn't exist for you. Maybe it only exists for the child. You aren't that child, or any of those children, and so to have those memories would be for you like having someone else's memories.

Does that make sense?

I think most people, Kin or not, have trouble recalling some of their childhood, because except for special occasions the days were very routine. Nothing stands out, so although you know you were a child and so had a childhood, you couldn't really pick one day from most of the others.
But Kin seem to have special trouble with memories of being a child. Not just a few of the childhood years, but all of them. For some of us it seems like we begin in our teens or sometimes even later.
Of course we know we were children, and sometimes we even have the pictures to prove it, and when shown the pictures we recall the times/events shown, but spontaneously we cannot come up with memories/events/happenings. We need prompting and reminding of them and even then we can have trouble filling in details and names.

I believe that as we begin to remember things from past lives our brains begin to automatically delete the memories that we do not need in order to make room.
I've no proof of course, but there have been experiments done, and the results show that as a survival mechanism the body and brain do function on automatic pilot and without the consent of the essence in charge will shut down unnecessary functions and sections of brain and body in order to continue to perform at maximum efficiency in the new situation.
I think perhaps this is something of that kind. Not for survival obviously, but for efficiency and relevancy I think it is possible.

I didn't think I had any problems remembering my childhood, until I read your post and realised that I haven't any much to talk about either.
I mean I see pictures on my mum's wall and mantle piece and I recognise myself in them, but it's a bit like looking at a stranger too sometimes.
Do you get that too Zygo or are you just talking about not remembering anything at all?

zygopterix- 09-30-2008
yes I do.
I have a gap of a couple of years that only has a couple of memories to it .
There is an illness a fish tank a puppy and some pictures of things I but nothing solid until I was 7 or so, and a wierd time when I had a major illness whre I remember bits of being ill but not anything after it for a long time. Then mostly the "me the non human stuff is all I remember".
There are even times in my teens where I struggle to find any memories other than a few directly involving me.
I spent a long time on my own as a child but I still would have thought more of it would be easier to remember than it is.

And before anyone says it's my age..... I am not that old yet
...thankyou
I heard that.... tongue.gif

He does hear all kinds of interesting stuff, then he forgets it instantly because he's getting on a bit you know. otherkin/wink.gif

I don't remember much about any of my childhoods, but I figure since they'd be pretty much the same each time, and just be full of lots of dribbling and wetting myself I wasn't missing much. otherkin/lol.gif
If not having them worries you that much there are regression meditations you can do to get them back. Give a yell if you need them. smile.gif

Having put careful consideration to the subject, the thought of remembering wetting myself just put me off ...but I think the ideas here are a very useful little resource if anyone else wonders the same thing I did.
Well done everyone.
