I usually only meditate to relax and center myself.
So I sit somewhere quiet and private and try to still my mind as much as possible. I have never tried to clear or empty my mind, I never get that long to spend meditating.

So I just try to get the noise down to a point where it doesn't intrude on what I am doing.
Then I concentrate on my breathing and relax my muscles.
Breathing in and out slowly and relaxing deeper into the meditation with every breath.
Once I feel I have reached my desired level of calm I slowly begin the journey back to my body. Reaching through the meditation back to self.
Once the journey is complete and I am again in my own body, I do several stretching exercises just to re-awaken my muscles and I am done.
