The worst earthquake to hit China for nearly thirty years has claimed (edited to update the estimated final death toll at) over 69,000 lives, and left tens of thousands of other people still buried in collapsed buildings.
The quake, measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale hit on Monday at 2:28 pm (0628 GMT), could be felt in cities hundreds of kilometres away and has left most roads and bridges damaged and unusable. Followed by heavy rains on Tuesday which grounded military and rescue aeroplanes and helicopters, this has made reaching survivors increasingly difficult.
Communicating by satellite telephone the county secretary of China's ruling Communist Party said "There is still no news about the situation in the townships located exactly at the epicentre. These three townships have a total population of more than 24,000 people."

Please gather here to leave your prayers, both for those lost, and those who survived, those who have lost someone and those who are still missing.
For everyone who leaves a prayer or thought I will light a candle to join my own, and send positive healing thoughts to these people at this truly terrible time.
I feel like this is not enough, but at this moment this is really all any of us can do. And healing thoughts can work miracles.

This is just awful isn't it?
I heard on the news that they expect the death toll to rise much higher once they can get to a point where they can actually assess the total damage. And that they believe they are nowhere near a true account of the devastation this has caused.

Please light my candle and I will send healing thoughts and energies along with it's flame.
I have wished all day that there was something that I could do, and now there is.

I know the longer it goes on the less likely they are to find people alive but I was wondering if you would mind lighting some another candle for me Lady C.
I have been working on the weather over there to try and make the rescue attempt easier.
Having stopped the initial downpour that was stopping the recuers cold I am a bit at a loss as to what is for the best now. (I am not the only one doing this I can feel the others that had the same idea)
Should it be left to run it's course naturally or do we hold onto the present conditions a bit longer.

I understand that many will consider that the ones who have passed do not need our thoughts and prayers, but I asked for it for them to aid them in their passing and to help them find the Source. It does not always happen naturally or smoothly, especially when the passing is fast and unexpected.
But I did not specify where the energy raised must go, I merely asked that it should be used where it was most needed.


I thankyou Zygo for telling me that others were helping you with the weather. Over the last couple of days I have felt others doing what we have been doing here too. It was a wonderful feeling of connection.
Though I wish it did not take a disaster such as this to bring us together.

The news today said the death toll has hit 50,000 and is still rising. Many thousands are still missing, there are constant aftershocks and intermittent heavy rain too.
Things do not look good.

Possitive thoughts are needed now as much as they were when this terrible disaster first happened. It is a tragedy and I send my thoughts and prayers out to those poor people.
