it is the very beginning. This is the prologue to the story. (haha not even past the first chapter and the main character dies! haha.) But this excerpt is the very very beginning. and now i'm repeating myself...

That is really great Katie, and I don't think we've seen the last of your central character. I think she'll be back somehow, I don't know how, but I have faith in you, I know you'll work it out.

I really enjoyed reading the beginning of your story Katie.
It's fantastic.

You must have spent a lot of time thinking about just the right way to say what you wanted your story to say.

I love (and hate) the way when I write a story some bits of it are so hard to put into words, (I try and I try, writing and re-writing, crossing out, throwing away, starting again!) and yet other parts of it seem to almost write themselves.
What is with that anyway???

haha i don't know, but i'm the exact same. I write a scene four times and then read them again and they're all written differently. Then i choose the best one and stick it in there. But then i have to read all the scenes and make sure they make sense. it's super mind boggling sometimes.

But I enjoy the chaos even though at times it does make clear thinking very difficult indeed, and sleep almost impossible.

I think that I would rather have the chaos of a slightly unbalanced existence than the peaceful living death I see so often, that accompanies a serene and tranquil mind with no imagination or aptitude for excitement.
