That sounds kinda like you're talking about walking on different planes then, am I close, Zygo?

I guess i could say that I'm a little skeptic when it comes to etheric projection...I can see how one would do it if they had already been in that place before...but then it could be explained scientifically, hehe...As for astral projection on a different plane...I don't really know.

The only times that I have ever gone out of my way to find people that way, I was very careful not to try to "control" anything--at all--so that I could verify it's...uh..."truthiness" (hahaha)

I guess I lean on science in that way: I tend to use natural experimentation and try not to affect anything...which in the case of astral projection, is nearly impossible to prove anything. The mind is a more powerful thing than we are lead to believe, I suppose....

I just thought I'd add my two cents about what zygo said.

I've only ever been to the astral once for about ten seconds and I experienced the getting 'pulled back' that he mentioned. I believe the cause of this (at least in my case), is that my mind got excited that I had done it and I surprised myself and ruined my concentration.

That would explain why continual trying would work because you wouldn't be as surprised after a few times and thus could keep your concentration better.

In practice it is not exactly like that but if you apply the principle of walking on planes then it does work and will get you started using different levels within the astral.
Using steps is a good tangible way of changing your perception but eventually you won't need it and being able to simply hear and then see whats going on at any level you want will become natural.
The best thing to do is work on getting yourself into the Astral at any point and then work on the rest from there.
