Because they can thats the simple answer.

I wonder why they think it's alright to do that though?

I mean so many people have posted here recently to say that being Otherkin is nothing special, nothing out of the ordinary, and not even that much different from humans.
But if you are really so ordinary, then from a human perspective I wonder why are so many of us desperate to be any of you?
Even though you could say that it is only because we believe there is something special about being Otherkin, but we are mistaken because we dont realise the truth. We make up so many stories and tales about Vampires and Weres, Elves and Dragons, and we don't do that because any of you are just like us. We do it because we feel the differences between you and us.

I think and I am not sure if this will make sense to everyone but its a thought that keeps repeating itself in my head it is to be kin, you must have been asked to open your soul to possibility and with your very light extinguish impossibility, bringing you closer to the divine substance from which everything was born.

I believe to be Kin is a two way street.
First you must be accepted by The Source as having a Kin essence. When you have that acceptance and acknowledgement from The Source, that's when your Awakening begins to show as a flower bud waiting for the sun.
Secondly you must accept the Kin essence as what you are, that is when you bring your essence into the light, when with your help, your Awakening progresses into a full blooming flower.
But when either one of these is missing you remain human.

How on earth did you find that Obsidian.
