Darke, i believe that humans really have psychic abilities because my mother, my grandmother and great grandmother all have minor precognition but none are kin, so maybe (very big maybe) humans can get a connection to the source, but not a direct connection, so that they don't have strong psychic abilities but weak ones from the power bouncing down too many roads.

In your opinion your relatives are not kin, but you have no way of really knowing for sure that they are not. It is just your opinion. We never know really about anyone, unless of course you are Wraith, then you could probably tell for certain!

As for a connection to The Source, well they must have at least an indirect one, everything that comes from The Source has one, and everything comes from The Source. Even humans, though of course it is very indirectly.


The connection is weak for them though, only allowing contact one way from The Source to them, but not the other way.
Connection is possible, contamination is not.

What makes you think they would foul the sourse

True, it is my opinion. But I'm 99.98% sure, haha. But yeah, I would never be absolutely positive. Too bad there isn't some -*test*-('") or something... Or a beacon, other than just sensing it.

anyway, would this indirect connection allow minor psychic abilities? And do you think that very few humans would have the ability to become aware of this connection (most probably by accident) and attempt a stronger connection? Would that be even possible for them to get a stronger connection? Would simply being aware of it make it stronger? And if they came from the Source and so are part of the Source why would it be contamination? sorry for all the questions!

OK firstly Skeeve, they wouldn't foul The Source, no-one is saying that their energy is dirty, but anything that is pure would be contaminated by the addition of anything else. And now for the Spanish Inquisitor....Erm I mean Katie.

Yes I've often thought it would be lovely if you could just hold a buttercup under people's chins or something and see if they were kin! lol.

I think it would depend on your definition of real psychic ability, but yes I think it would give them some abilities, possibly more than they know how to handle, perhaps precognitive abilities, and often some empathy and of course humans often see 'ghosts' and 'feel' prickly sensations of 'being watched'.
But Kin are often overloaded with the things they pick up accidentally from their Empathic ability, and I don't think humans would feel things that strongly, or would want to. Thinking about it most kin don't want to either.

Yes many attempt a stronger connection, and perhaps just the fact that they are aware of the connection would mean that they opened themselves more to that connection and so because more was coming through the connection would be stronger. But as Shade said the connection although linked at both ends works like a valve rather than a tube and energy only travels one way which is why although connection is possible contamination is not.

It would be contamination because although they are from The Source they are not completely Source material and as I said to Skeeve anything that is pure can be contaminated by the addition of anything else. It's not just humans though, even Kin/Shadow or anything else that has been seperated this long could not be re-absorbed without contaminating The Source.

I am guessing, but I would say she doesn't which is why it can be lonely.

Do you gather together ever, or are you truly solitary?
And do you fly everywhere, or do you think yourself places or what happens?
Do you ever leave your body and astral travel? And if you do which Astral plane do you visit and is it easier for you as a formless being?

Sorry Katie, I think I misunderstood what you were asking.

For me psychic ability is more about abilities than afflictions.
An ability to me is a gift that is in controlled use and of intentional benefit to the user.
Humans tend to have 'feelings', 'visions' and 'premonitions', but run away or hide from them. They try everything they can find to be 'cured' of what they often term unnatural abilities, and would do anything not to be burdened by them. They treat them as an affliction.
This to me is not true psychic ability, which the owner has the knowledge, strength and ability to put to it's best and most beneficial use.
Many of those who call themselves humans do have what it takes to use these gifts and these are the unawakened kin that I spoke of previously.

We do have gatherings, but they are rare and usually signal a significant happening in our world. The rest of the time we often go many years without coming into contact with another of our kind.

Travelling... Well. Cars and Planes really.
When in the Astral it's kind of a mixture of the thinking and flying for short distances, I do enjoy skimming the ground and swirling round trees very much. It tickles.
For long distances I use the portals. That way is a lot like blinking. You close your eyes in one location and step through the portal, and when you open your eyes again you're somewhere completely different.

I must confess at this point that the Astral Realms the humans can get to are places I never go. Time out from their energies is vital to me and the Astral Realms can be completely human influence free if you know where to go.

No they don't.
You wouldn't even see them as they are on a different frequency to you.
Instead of thinking about different planes of existence think of different wavelengths of existence.
The human astral on Long Wave while the Otherkin one is on VHF and the Dragon one is on UHF.
Kin can use all the different wavelengths but if you are on one you won't see or hear something on a different one, unless you are specifically looking for it.

And once you get more familiar with the way things work you can tune your own vibration just slightly off key so that even those who are searching for kin will not find you if you do not wish to be found.
